How it works

Creative Spirits is set up to be a fun and relaxing time out. We want you to get creative, drink some wine, enjoy the company of good friends and socialize. Get ready to relax and get creative! We also offer virtual paint classes you can participate in live via Zoom.

You choose the painting you would like to learn! First, go to our Events Calendar and take a look at our featured paintings. Pick your desired location (we do paint at other business locations periodically) and design – then, chat with your gal pals, spouse, boyfriend, co-workers or parents. TRY and agree on which painting you would love to paint. Like the painting, but the colors don’t match your decor? You can change the colors in any painting! YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT HOW WELL YOU DO!!

Once everyone has agreed, click the featured painting’s link from the calendar to see details and register for class. It’s very important to RSVP and book your class in advance so that we can prepare for you. If we do not receive at least three registrations for a class 24 hours prior, we will cancel it to allow our artists to have that time off.

On the day of your class, arrive about 15-20 minutes early to get checked in and get all the supplies you need. Our BYOB license allows participants to bring in their own alcohol to the studio location at 13 N. San Francisco, Suite 104, to consume during classes after 4 p.m. We provide corkscrews, glasses and ice. We highly encourage participants to carpool or take a taxi service home if you will be bringing in alcoholic beverages. At any other location where we paint, drinks are a separate purchase.

Next, RELAX and HAVE FUN! A local artist instructor will paint along with you and guide you brush stroke by brush stroke until your masterpiece is complete!

In a relaxed, social group setting, a local artist will guide you step by step through recreating the featured painting. Whether you have experience or you are looking to explore your creative side, you are sure to have a great time and go home with your own unique painting. You will be amazed at what you learn and create.

Registering and reserving your space in advance is highly encouraged. This allows us to plan a great class for you. Visit our Events Calendar page to see upcoming featured paintings and when they are scheduled. Choose an event for online registration by clicking on its name on our calendar, and purchasing a ticket at the very bottom of the event page. Online registration and registration in advance helps us to meet our BYOB licensing requirements when we are at our studio location.

If less than three sign-ups are received 24 hours prior to a class, it will be canceled, so it is important to register ahead of time!

We always try to seat friends and parties together. Just be sure to let us know when making the reservation and we will do our best to seat you all together. Don’t delay; it is first-come, first-served, so sign up as soon as you have picked the class you all want to attend.

No problem! We would be happy to help you choose a different background color or help you customize it a little to fit with your personal decor. We carry several different paint colors, so feel free to send us a message to see if we have a color that you like.

Be creative about what you do with your finished product! You can have it framed with a wood border, hang it at your office, or even gift it to a friend or family member who will treasure your masterpiece!

We provide a stretched canvas (most studio location classes) or a canvas panel (bar location classes) for you to paint on and take home at the end of the night. You will have access to all of our paints, brushes and an easel. We provide aprons at our studio location.

We provide aprons at our studio location, but we recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting paint on. Acrylic paint will wash out of clothes while wet, but is permanent once it dries.

We recommend getting here 15-20 minutes early so you have time to get registered, put on your apron, get your paint, and get your drink poured before the fun starts! Classes run around 2 hours with frequent breaks. At the bar locations, we also recommend coming a few minutes early to grab a drink and settle in.

Beginning October 11, 2019, we will process debit and credit card refunds for the original transaction amount, less the third-party merchant fee we are charged when you paid with your card, rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. This is in accordance with new changes being rolled out on the same date by our payment processor. If you would rather, we can issue you a credit to use at a later date for the full amount of your original registration purchase. Thanks in advance for understanding the impact these charges can have on our small business!

Cancellations should be made by phone at 928.600.9291. Please leave a voicemail if we do not answer right away. This provides us the opportunity to fill the space. We will charge the full class fee for reservations not cancelled 48 hours in advance.

For private parties, we ask you to give us one week notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations should be made by phone or by emailing us at info@creativespiritsaz.com. This provides us the opportunity to book another party. We will charge the minimum number of participants fee for reservations cancelled within a week prior to the event ($100 minimum charge). This is in addition to the non-refundable deposit made when booking the event.

We try to have the schedule out by the 15th, for the next month. Please check our Events Calendar often for new events and specials!

We paint in several locations; you may BYOB to our studio location ONLY! Drinks are a separate purchase in all other locations unless specified in the ticket fee and event description.
Unopened wine, beer and no more than 4 ounces of distilled spirits, are the only alcoholic beverages welcome into our studio location. Champagne and alcoholic seltzers like White Claw are fine! Painted with us on a canvas board? You have some options if you’d like to hang your piece of art! Your canvas board will fit into a frame. Frames usually come equipped with saw-toothed hangers or some type of flat hook that will allow you to easily hang it. If you choose not to use a frame, any hardware store or even Target and Walmart will have a section of hooks, adhesives, etc. Command Tape is always a good option, as it simple to use and won’t ruin your walls. Another option is to adhere saw-tooth hangers to the back (using a reliable glue/epoxy) and hang from a small nail in the wall.
