Taught by Trevor

This course teaches you the basics of charcoal drawing while embracing a loose approach to drawing. NO worries about being too detailed or “photo real” in this course. We will learn how to approach drawing in a natural, loose manner and get the most out of this approach. Great for beginners or if you just need to refresh your skills. There will be assignments provided to take home if the student desires. We will cover the basics of sketching: Tones and values, light and shadow; composition; perspective; how to capture volume of shape. We will work with a still life for a final drawing. The first part of the class will include going over basics and creating short sketches which will be quicker drawings. We will create a tone value reference page from which to use for your final sketch.
